Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.4.0.0 has been proudly presented! Finally another attempt to improve the SMBus controller communication routine specific for Intel LGA2011-v3 processors lets Thaiphoon Burner access the second half of the register array of 4-Kbit EEPROM devices. Also the new improvement excludes 16 false SPD EEPROM device locations when probing them on Bus 2 and Bus 3. The user now can adjust the size of the Main Toolbar buttons through a context menu. The "Product Details" and "Addressing and Capacity" dialog forms have obtained the "Write" button and the main menu to adjust SMBus specific parameters. This lets changes to be promptly written to the EEPROM. The program is now capable of exporting prepared summary reports to the several new file formats: Microsoft Excel, plain text and HTML. The new Export button for this purpose has been added to the main toolbar and the File main menu has been enhanced. The "PSWP Protection" dialog form now supports the dedicated LGA2011-v1/v2 SMBus controller for determining the status of PSWP protection of EEPROM. For DDR2 SDRAM and DDR2 FB-DIMM modules manufactured by Samsung the part number of DDR2 SDRAM component is determined. Part Number of DDR3 SDRAM components of Elpida DDR3 DIMMs is determined too. Some Windows 8.1 compatibility issues have been fixed. SPD Browser has a new button of "Add to Shortcuts" which is used to add a shortcut to the viewed SPD Dump to the Shortcut Menu without the need to open the dump in the HEX Editor. The function to import text SPD dumps from clipboard has been improoved.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.4.1.0 has been rleased! This new update is dedicated to our new Ukrainian partner of Global EasyCom Internet Digest. The main highlight of the new version is applying the color scheme for full reports. That was the third time when we had an idea to renew the report style and to find some kind of unique color scheme for Thaiphoon Burner. But we have advanced far from unique, we have made it flexible and universal! So, now it is possible to apply a color scheme of summary reports to full reports as well. The full reports are neat and good looking indeed. This can be done through the "View" main menu of the program. Instead of detecting on-die EEPROM thermal sensor by the status of appropriate SPD feature bit on Intel's LGA2011 platform the physical device probing method is used. Such a method enables to find the thermal sensor for sure. For identification purpose the program has an experimental capability of determining the Part Number of SK Hynix DRAM chips employed on DDR4 SDRAM modules. When opening a dump by shortcut from the Shortcut Menu there is an additional check for validity of dump offset in the database that is used to change after updating the SPD database file.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.4.2.0 has been released. The main benefit of the new update is SPD Browser 5.0. Now it completely uses the shared color scheme. This makes the appearance of HTML pages with search results sharp and elegant. Besides, two new columns of “Density” and “Chip Organization” have been added to the search results page. Both columns are specific for SDRAM components. The new version of the program identifies DDR4 SDRAM components manufactured by Micron Technology. Both abbreviated and full part numbers are displayed in case of Crucial Technology and Micron Technology DDR4 DRAM modules. For G.SKILL DDR4 memory modules Thaiphoon Burner determines the part number of employed Samsung chips. The snapshot function now correctly saves PNG files despite the specifics of regional settings of Windows. Minor improvements have been made for opening SPD dumps of non-native format. Drag'n'Drop functionality has been improved to open multiple SPD dump files in the program.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.4.3.0 has been released. As you probably know, Intel XMP profiles both for DDR3 and DDR4 DRAM modules do not provide information on DRAM components and hardware platform (CPU, motherboard, etc) on which they have been tested for. Applying XMP settings may result in a boot failure due to incompatibility between low timing delays and DRAM controllers of specific processors. To remove XMP lack a new database with 100% tested XMP profiles is attached to Thaiphoon Burner’s SPD Browser. It is based on well-known XML tree and can store enhanced information for each XMP record like hardware platform details, tester name, URL to source reviews, etc. This significantly simplifies finding XMP profiles to be compatible with user’s PC system configuration. Added support for “Bay Trail” platform SMBus controller and Xeon D-1500 product family SMBus controller to access SPD EEPROM. Minor improvements to the methods of interpretation SPD specific for the latest DDR4 SDRAM products of Micron Technology have been maid.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.5.0.0 has been released. We are very proud to be the first to introduce support for the latest Revision of DDR4 SPD 1.1 on the software market. This has been achieved due to our new partner Samsung Semiconductor. Although JEDEC have not yet announced the publication of Release 3 of the DDR4 Serial Presence Detect (SPD) document, Thaiphoon Burner already supports its key changes. For instance, three new tWR, tWTR_L, tWTR_S timing delays are decoded and included in the reports. Timing Table Editor for DDR4 SPD has been redesigned to adjust these timings. Although its window height is slightly larger now, switching between possible tabs for primary and secondary timings is not required. XMP Enhancer for DDR3 and DDR4 SPD now let you create Intel XMP profiles on the base of the current timing settings of the DRAM controller channels. For the moment this new feature works on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th generations of Intel processors, including Intel LGA2011 platform. It can also be used for examining current timing delays of each DRAM channels programmed by BIOS. The part number of DDR4 DRAM chips is identified for original Samsung DDR4 memory modules. Besides, the program provides complete part number decoding of Samsung DDR4 DIMMs in the full report. To properly calculate the total module capacity equipped with 3DS DRAM chips the new formula has been used. The Addressing and Capacity dialog also uses it to display DIMM capacity without mistakes.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.5.1.0 has been released. This new update is a first step to support the SMBus Host Controller of upcoming AMD Carrizo processors in FP4 and FM2r2 package, having native support both for DDR3 and DDR4 memory. The program has been successfully tested for consistency with the AMD PRO A12-8800B “Carrizo” code-named APU with DDR4 DIMMs. The Seiko Instruments S-34T04A 4-Kbit SPD EEPROM is identified. When selecting tCK, tAA, tRCD, tRP, etc list boxes within XMP Enhancer for DDR4 SPD the relative Adjustable Parameter for fine correction is selected automatically. Enhanced parametric information on thermal sensor of 4-Kbit SPD EEPROM is added to the full report. Lot Number of Kingston DDR4 memory modules is determined. Thaiphoon Burner has used to immediate close when opening hw-db.com website thought the SPD Browser. For this reason its User Agent string has been changed to “Internet Explorer”. Fixed a runtime error that could occur when closing Thaiphoon Burner.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.6.0.0 has been released. The new tool of Comparator is part of Thaiphoon Burner since now. It has been designed as two-panel HEX editor to compare content of SPD dumps with the highlighting capability. It is supposed to be an enhanced version of the HEX Editor of Thaiphoon Burner, featuring a simple concept with three color schemes of white, black and blue. The new version of the program is capable of reading protection status of each from the four quadrants of 4-Kbit SPD EEPROM device. This is an extremely useful feature when it comes to making sure that the EEPROM is free from protection before you are going to reprogram it. Some of the new IDs of Intel SMBus Host Controllers have been added.

Thaiphoon Burner Super Blaster 9.7.0.0 has been released. The new version includes two notable implementations. The first one is SPD Data Protection Test designed to check whether the SPD EEPROM device is write-protected with one of the three types of data protection – RSWP, PSWP and HWP. Our testing method is based on changing two SPD bytes with the subsequent restoring their initial state. The method is compatible with 24C02 and 34C02 2-Kbit EEPROM classes. This new future will be helpful for our potential customers to know for sure whether they can reprogram SPD and whether a license for Thaiphoon Burner will be necessary for that purpose. The second key feature of the new version is SPD Backup Manager. The idea is to make background backups of SPD after each reading process is complete. A user can control making backups through the new Backup main menu. Backups are stored in a separate database file of Backups.dbd and can be extracted to a dump file or deleted from it. SPD Backup Manger also provides summary information about DRAM module for each SPD backup. Among minor improvements there is support for built-it SMBus controller of the AMD Family 16h Model 30-3F (Mullins) SoC; FBGA type of DDR3 and DDR4 DRAM chips is displayed in the summary report. DRAM dies count is determined for any standard of DRAM chips. The part number of SK Hynix DDR4 DRAM components employed for Kingston HyperX memory modules is determined even though the SDRAM Revision is not defined. More info on this release on Russian is here.
